Responding to the drama experience

 

Once the children have explored the classroom, they will come back to the front of the room as a class, and discuss what they have explored throughout the classroom. Focus questions for the educator to ask the children can include:

  • What are some of the differences between the cultures?

  • What did we learn about the cultural dancing of Malawi?

  • How are their dancing cultures different to ours?

  • What are some of the features of the outfits worn by the different cultures?

 

The children will then have a chance to write in their journals about their experiences. Some start sentences to help children begin their journals can be written on the board, such as:

  • I enjoyed the cultural dance of ___________ because........

  • My favourite part of the dance experiences was.....

 

The educator can present pictures to the children that they have taken throughout the day of the children performing, and the children can glue these into their journals if they wish.
